Designed
for mass production work environments, the RMS is FMT's most powerful
machine.
Capable
of supporting the largest spindles, the robust 3-axis double height gantry
and high performance servo drive
motors make it capable of the most demanding applications. Applications
range from sign making, woodworking, and metalworking to parts fabrication,
architectural modeling, mold
making, ice carving, education, and more.

Aircraft
grade extruded aluminum T-slot machine bed
Aircraft
grade extruded aluminum double-height gantry. The double height gantry
provides extra strength and rigidity for heavier cutting applications
and multiple

Heavy-duty
precision steel linear rails and bearings in

High
speed, high torque 120VDC 15 amp closed loop

RMS
Control Electronics
Fiber-optic
communication used to communicate
between PLC, PC and Servo Drive. This reduces the
chance of RF noise interfering with the operation of
the table.
Automatic
spindle and vacuum control plus
machine-side graphing, job analysis, and on-the-fly
speed control
Operator
work station/computer stand and machine-side operator control pendant
8"
under gantry clearance and 7" Z-axis
travel (higher clearance and travel upgrade optional)
Maximum
simultaneous X/Y traversespeed
of
1200ipm. Actual cutting speeds are dependent on
type and thickness of material being cut, the bit
being used, and the job file.
Universal
Z-axis mounting plate accommodates other
FMT tooling options
T-slot
speed-clamping system (vacuum bed upgrade optional)
Non-accumulation
repeatability 0.001"

X,Y,Z
machine-home limit switches (total of 6 switches
for high and low machine limits)
Due
to the high limit switches, process area in x-axis is always 2"
less than standards listed on our brochure. For example a 52" x
102"machine will actually have a process area of 52" x 100".
Machine
can be wired for 208, 220, 230, 380, 400, 415 and 440 VAC 3-phase
Machine
footprint: this will depend on the machine process
area. Just add 36" to the y axis process area and 18" to the
X-axis process area. For example, an RMII with
a 52x102 process area will have a footprint of approximately 88"
x 120". For the RMS systems ordered with automatic tool changers,
add an additional 14" to the Y-axis footprint. CMC3 controller
systems will also need a computer workstation positioned close to the
machine, which will be additional to the above footprint calculation
